Why does my screen sometimes flash?
Your screen may seem to flash when Image Player application rotates the wallpaper or icon images.

Screen Saver works, but images are not visible as wallpaper. What do I do?
This may happen on some systems if your PC is set to view display 'as Web Page'. To change, right click on an empty (background) area of the screen, select Properties>Web and uncheck the View my Active Desktop as a web page checkbox.

Which image file types are supported?
Only jpg, wpi and vpc image file types are supported.

How do I add personal photos to Image Player?
Image Player allows you to easily add any of your personal photos to your scrolling desktop.

  1. If photos are already stored on my computer
    1. Double-click on the Image Player icon on the System Tray
    2. Click the button
    3. Find the image file and click the button
  2. If photos are to be scanned into my computer
    1. Computer will ask where to put images.
    2. Put the image in one of the folders located in Image Player folder (usually C:\Program Files\Image Player\My Images)

How do I add images from other sites or photo communities?
Image Player allows you to easily add images from other sites or photo communities.

  1. Right click on the image displayed in your browser
  2. Select 'Save Image as...' or similar menu option (the exact wording differs from browser to browser).
  3. Computer will ask where to put the image.
  4. Put the image in one of the folders located in Image Player folder (usually C:\Program Files\Image Player\My Images)

Can I eliminate the icons moving around the Screen Saver?
No, these moving icons are needed to fulfill the main objective of a Screen Saver: preventing burn-out of the phosphorus in your monitor.

Can I eliminate the icons displayed at the right margin of my Desktop?
No, your clicks on these icons help to pay for the Image Player software and all images available for free download from our web site.

The Image Player system tray icon flashes sometimes. What does it mean, and can I stop it ?
Flashing icon is intended to remind you to go to our site to view, and possibly download, new images. You can stop the flashing by double-clicking on this icon and checking the Stop flashing icon checkbox.

How do I prevent Image Player from automatically starting at boot-up?

  1. Right-click on the START button,
  2. select OPEN option, and Programs.
  3. Double-click on Start Up folder icon.
  4. Click the Image Player icon and hit Delete key.

How do I restore the 'normal' (non-rotating) wallpaper to my desktop?

  1. Check if the Image Player application is active. Look for the Image Player icon on the system tray (usually in the right bottom corner of the screen).
  2. Click with the right mouse button on the icon and on Exit Image Player tab to stop the Image Player application. You can now follow the normal Window procedure to select the desktop background image. NOTE: The Image Player will restart after the next boot-up, unless you have disabled the automatic starting (see the paragraph above).

How do I stop a currently running Image Player without deleting it from the disk?

How do I change a wallpaper image on my desktop without waiting for the scheduled rotation?

  1. Double click the Image Player icon on the system tray.
  2. Browse through the Wallpaper and Screen Saver Image Files list box. Click on the + sign to expand folders.
  3. A single click on the image name will highlight the image name and display its contents in the Preview window. A double click on the image name will display it on the desktop.
Why do I have multiple images (tiled) on my screen?
Your settings are probably configured for 'Tile' in the 'Display' control panel.
  1. Right click on your desktop.
  2. Select Properties from the menu. In the window 'Display Properties', the 'Background' tab includes an option for tiling your wallpaper.
  3. Change this setting to 'Center', click the 'Apply' button. The wallpaper should display properly.
Why would my wallpaper image be distorted?
  1. Right click on your desktop.
  2. Select Properties from the menu. In the window 'Display Properties', the 'Background' tab includes an option for setting your wallpaper Center, Tile or Stretch.
  3. Change this setting to 'Center', click the 'Apply' button. The wallpaper should display properly.
I uninstalled Image Player, but the image is still on my Desktop. How do I remove the image?
  1. Right click on the Desktop
  2. Select the 'Properties' tab
  3. Select 'Backgrounds'
  4. Choose some other background image or '(None)'
  5. Click OK button
What do I do if I register incorrectly for Image Player?
  1. From our Home Page, click on the 'Change Profile' link.
  2. Modify the existing record and click the 'SUBMIT' button.
I uninstalled Image Player. The Image Player logo is gone from the system tray, but the folder is still in the Program Files. How do I remove it completely?
This assumes that you installed the Image Player in the default location suggested by the IPSetup.exe program:
  1. Click on the 'My Computer' icon
  2. Click on the '(C:)' hard drive icon
  3. Choose the 'Program Files' file folder
  4. Single click on the 'Image Player' folder to highlight the folder
  5. Press the 'Delete' key on your keyboard
How do I remove the IP cookie from my web browser?
  1. Make absolutely sure that you want to remove the cookie. Once the cookie is removed, next time you attempt to download an image, you will be asked to register again.
  2. If yoy are really sure, click here.

I lost the IP program from my disk (or the program is corrupted). How do I download and install the IP program again?
Follow this procedure ONLY if you have previously registered for IP service. To reinstall the IP:

  1. Click here to download the IP package. Make sure that you save the IPSetup.exe file in your Desktop folder.
  2. Double click on the IPSetup.exe icon representing the executable file downloaded to your desktop.
  3. Read the displayed Software License Agreement. Click the OK button if you agree to the terms of the Agreeement and want to proceed with the installation.
  4. Wait for the Folder selection dialog box. Click the OK button to confirm the default installation folder, or type in a different folder path name. We recommend that you accept the default folder location. It will allow the new IP to be installed over the old one, avoiding the situation where you might have two versions running at the same time, competing with each other.
  5. A new browser window opens, confirming your successful installation of the Image Player package.
