I specialize in the unique images that are produced with infrared black
and white film. The surreal quality of the images is created by the
different ways in which the infrared films sees a scene versus what a
human eye sees. I have shot around the country, but am continually
drawn to the stark beauty of the mountains, deserts and wide, open
spaces of the American West. My work is displayed in various
collections around the country.

I shoot nature images from landscapes to wildlife, flowers, and even a
few portraits. In truth, I shoot anything that catches my eye,
particularly my cats. Of course, they now recognize my camera and run
for cover. The area around Boulder, Colorado is my home, and the focus
of most of my images. I had no idea when I began shooting I would
become so passionately involved. It has taught me new way to look at
the world, to feel its natural rhythms and to appreciate the beauty
that surrounds me but seemed invisible before I looked through my
viewfinder.

surroundings where cultural celebrations, people's faces and wildife in
its natural habitat touch and move me.

I attended a fine arts college with my major in photography. I learned so
much about photography as a fine art and realized that I was not a
traditional fine arts photographer. I also realized while working for a
commercial photography studio that I was not totally interested in the idea
of commercial photography. Somehow I have fall outside of both of these
ideals. I have a passion for creating images that can capture the eye and/or
the imagination of my viewer.
